The Xakanaxa pride killed themselves 2 giraffe at the end of last week. I was in Maun doing the shopping and found the lions sleeping in the shade, digesting the meal.
The 2 males have moved back west over 3rd Bridge.
There was a troop of Vervet Monkeys (Cercopithecus aethiops) nearby. They were moving through the grass foraging for grass seeds and insects. There were plenty of babies some of which could not have been older than a week or two.
They moved to a nearby puddle at the side of the road. It was incredible to see that some of the monkeys went for a swim. It was a scorcher of a day and the dip in the water must have helped to keep them cool. One individual would completely submerge itself while others looked on as though he had gone completely mad.
